After Barca’s draw at Gijon, last round, the hopes have risen again in Real’s camp, the gap being reduced to 5 points only. They are coming after a hard fought win at Espanyol, being forced to play with a man less since the 3rd minute, when Casillas was sent off. Even so, they’ve played an awesome counter attacking game and the scoreline should have been much bigger in their favor, since only Adebayor missed 3 huge one on one chances. Overall, the team was looking good and young Adan resolved Espanyol’s few chances. He will play on goal tomorrow too, Real not having any other significant injury concerns, except the long term injured Higuain. Sergio Ramos might not feature tomorrow either after being benched last round and reports are suggesting he’s close to a transfer at Milan.
Decent lately
After an awful start of the year, with 4 consecutive defeats after the winter break, Levante managed to get back on track. They are now on a run of 3 games winning streak and they’ve managed to move a little above the relegation zone. If wins against Almeria and Getafe can’t be rated as big surprises, the away win from Villareal is, this only confirming their good form. Even if they aren’t very stabile at the back, their attack started to work, Felipe Caicedo and Valdo being in terrific form, they also scoring all their goals in the previous 3 games. Experienced defender Javi Venta is suspended and this is a blow, while Sergio Gonzalez, Gorka Larrea and Miguel Pallordo are all injured.
Goals
The mutual game from Valencia ended in a goalless draw but Real took their revenge in the Cup where, after a 2-0 away win, came the 8-0 trashing from Bernabeu. Levante’s players are stating they are ready to revenge this huge shame but chances for that to happen are close to zero. Real has an important CL match against Lyon next week and this could be an useful training before that game. I don’t rule Levante scoring since I still can’t trust Real’s defense but I am positive we will witness a gala game from the Madridistas. I see a game with goals and I’m willing to back this option but only with some medium stakes since the goal line is set quite high for my taste.
