Temuri Ketsbaia, who helped Anorthosis Famagusta to reach the group stage of Champions League for the first time in Cypriot football history, is the new boss at the Georgian National Team and the first signs of improvement are already visible. The Georgians had a solid start to Euro 2012 qualifying, leading at half-time in Greece (1-1) and keeping a clean sheet against Israel (0-0). So, after two very good matches in which they were underdogs, Georgia entertain Group F outsiders Malta and anything else than a home victory would be a huge disappointment.
Group F minnows
Malta are sitting rock bottom on the group`s standings after two defeats in the first two games (1-3 in Israel, 0-2 against Latvia). Most of the players have a semi-pro status, with only 3 lads playing abroad, two of them in the weak Hungarian League and one at Melfi, Italian Serie C. While at home they shown some improvements during the past few years, away from home they remain one of the weakest sides in Europe, losing the last 16 matches without scoring on 12 of them, with the last positive result coming in 2007 against Moldova.
Clear Home Win
So, to resume: the stronger hosts, with a great new coach and a very good morale after the two rounds and with experienced players such as Alexander Iashvili, Levan Kobiashvili or Kakha Kaladze, are playing in front of 30.000-40.000 supporters against the hopeless guests. I expect a clear home win for Ketsbaia`s side at juicy odds.
