Lausanne are the surprise package of this year`s Europa League, eliminating Borac Banja Luka, Randers and Lokomotiv Moscow on their way to the group stage. In the Challenge League they`re doing great - 7-0-1 so far, with the only loss being the 2-1 defeat away to Wohlen ahead of the exciting first match in the Europa League group stage. But let`s get it straight - for Lausanne the promotion to Super League is much more important and after the two continental losses (to CSKA Moscow and Palermo), Lausanne should once again turn their attention to the domestic stage. At home against Aarau it should be really difficult, but the home side have some really classy players in the likes of Celestini, Silvio, Rodrigo and Roux.
Tough start to their campaign
Aarau have started with a win against minnows Locarno, but then they suffered a setback away to Yverdon - 2:0. It signalled that it may not be easy for them to secure promotion and they have to fight hard in every game. So far, Aarau are 3-2-3, 10 points behind the top2 places. It looks like Aarau will have to wait, cause this year Lausanne, Lugano, Vaduz and Servette look much, much better. The main problem is in the defense, where there are too many youngsters, namely Goncalves (18), Jakovljevic (18), Ludascher (22) and Muller (21). Only Rapisarda (25) looks experienced and this is a problem.
Value for Lausanne
It looks like a good value to back Lausanne today, as they are so far mistakeless at home. This is the last game from a very busy schedule for the hosts and after putting effort today, they could deservedly have a rest. Aarau are everything but convincing away from home and I think they will suffer today. Lausanne are one offensive-minded team and the likes of Silvio and Roux are able to punish every Challenge League team.
