Unbeaten in the League and a 100% Home record makes Stranraer a tough call for any side to play. Last week`s 4-1 defeat of 10 man Arbroath was done well enough, but they did have to work for it, and they did still concede a goal. Playing against 10 men for nearly an hour should have seen a better return in my eyes, so maybe they still have some work to do if faced with a heavy scoring side. A side in form, lots of confidence and scoring goals: they deserve to be strong favourites here.
Repeat performance , please!
Montrose registered their biggest win since back in the `70`s , with a massive 8-1 defeat over Clyde. To beat the pre-season favs for the title is great stuff, but it has to be tempered with the fact that they were playing against only 9 men for the large majority of the match. Clyde lost 2 players in the space of 2 mins, 27th and 29th, and so had an impossible task. But, Montrose took clear advantage and destroyed the visitors in fine style. It`s not always the case that having a man or two advantage results in such comprehensive wins, so I think credit is due. Montrose have been playing decent stuff but just not getting the results , and for me there is still a lot of improvement to come. Bar the 3-1 loss to Albion they`ve only gone down by the odd goal, and as much as it knocks a players confidence to be so close so often but fail to win, I think we saw last week that they have got that out of their system.
Value to be had
I`m prepared to take on Stranraer this week as I feel the odds on offer on Montrose with DNB (Draw no bet) are too big to miss. They will score again, as long as manager Tweed doesn`t have another `vision` and play himself! This is not as one sided as the odds make it out to be, and therefore I`ll help myself to the 3.75 Boylesports DNB on Montrose.
