Motherwell started the season with a very young squad and they find themselves on a midtable position so far, with no worries regarding the relegation battle. They overcame a 5 games losing streak in December and they are unbeaten in their last 4 games now. They have recorded 3 convincing wins against Killmarnock, St Mirren and Aberdeen, along with a draw away at Falkirk, this raising the morale between the players. Also, manager`s Craig Brown appointment was a huge factor to return the team on its winning ways, their spectacular January turnaround bringing him the Manager of the Month award. Midfielder Giles Coke will return from suspension, while defender Shaun Hutchinson (only 8 games played this season) is injured and will miss the Hamilton clash, along with new loan signing Michael McGlinchey.
The Accies
Hamilton is bottom of the table in SPL and they are without a win since 12 of December 2009, with 6 losses from their last 7 games. Hamilton`s manager Billy Reid already started to complain about Motherwell`s Fir Park pitch condition, after attending the semifinal between St Mirren and Hearts in the midweek, stating it is certainly one of his favorite pitches. Hamilton`s top scorer, Mickael Antoine-Curier, is injured and will miss Saturday`s game, while important defender Mark Mclaughlin will start his two games ban. Alex Neil and James Wesolowski will face late fitness tests but it is unlikely for either of them to feature in the starting eleven. New signing Doug Imrie will be fit to play.
Home win
This is the Lanarkshire derby and both teams will give 110% to win the game. But, considering their recent form, quality, squad status, I strongly believe Motherwell will continue their great form enjoyed under Brown`s guidance.
