Odds have dropped a bit since opening (1.80), but are still fine to me. I expect them to drop even further and the line will be -0.75 pretty fast. What else can they do besides dropping after such a good performance by Anderlecht against GBA on friday. I knew they were in good form, but even such a result and performance surprised me. Actually this isnt a very good thing for our bet cuz Anderlecht tend to take it sloppy when they have a great feeling. Their high confidence makes them work less hard and players think they can rely on talent alone. I wouldnt touch Anderlecht if they would play a mediocre or bad team this midweek, but they face Brugge this weekend. Brugge have been rivals of Anderlecht for decades now. Now that Standard has come back to the surface and won the championship for the last two years, rivalry with Brugge has lowered a bit (+ Brugge have been pretty poor last few years according to their standards). But still a big match for both teams and stadium will be packed. Great atmosphere is expected as Anderlecht is playing very good football lately. So home advantage is pretty important here. Dont think coach Jacobs will change much in his squad. As far that i know now, he wont miss anybody. So same line up is expected. Anderlecht havent lost in 12 matches. 34 points out of a possible 36. Great run as u can see. Hardly any matches in that run where they needed some luck (like they have had in previous seasons). They are cruising tru this competition and probably will be champions at the end. Their last loss was against...Club Brugge. They were totally outplayed during that match. Anderlecht lost 4-2 (with a second goal from Anderlecht in the dying minutes of the game). So i think players havent forgotten that match and wanna take some revenge (like they did against poor Standard some weeks ago). So they can show Belgium people who is the best team in the Jupiler pro League. Hard to say for me who are the key players here. Biglia is in great form and is the real director on the midfield. Boussoufa has some great skills and can decide a match with some genious stuff. 16y old Lukaku who is the new sensation,... As u can see lots of players in great form and if we look in total i think Anderlecht has got the better players in this match-up.
Club Brugge
Brugge won against Westerlo this weekend with 2-1. (2nd goal almost at the end of the game). Dont let those number mislead u. Score could have been much higher. Strikers and midfielders wasted lots of good chances + keeper of Westerlo saved some great shots. (although he made an error on the second goal). So it seems Brugge have risen up a bit and played some better soccer than a few weeks ago. Dont think it will be enough on wednesday though. As i have seen their match against Westerlo, i noticed they managed to create lots of chances, but their defense was pretty weak. I think Westerlo managed to appear 2 or three times alone in front of Stijnen. But Stijnen saved them. (best GK of the competition). These 2 or 3 chances all were possible with a pass over 20-40m. Their defenders were just badly positioned. I think if u give Anderlecht that much space take will take advantage of it pretty fast. Brugge will off course not play as high like they did against Westerlo. But coach Koster is a dutchman and likes offensive football. So i think he will do some minor adjustments, but will not think about defending alone. So Anderlecht will certainly have its space to play their favourite game. Also here same squad is expected. Maybe that defender Klukowski will come back after injury. Not their best defender, but it would be better if he didnt play cuz midfielder Blondel is playing at his spot. And his fighting spirit can be better used in midfield.
Home win
So i think we will see a small home win here. Home advantage should be crucial in these kind of matches. + Their loss at Brugge should inspire players of Anderlecht.
