Hibernian is high flying at the moment in the SPL, and they are looking capable of even breaking the Old Firm`s dominance over the Scottish football. Two points behind Celtic is not much, especially if we consider Celtic`s shaky form this season, and a CL qualifier would do wonders for Hibees financial status. Ok, let`s not get carried away yet, as there`s still a long way to get there. Last round, Hibernian managed a dramatic 2-1 win at Celtic`s ground, scoring the winner in the last minute. They will now look for their third win in the space of one week, after previously beating Hamilton on home turf, 5-1. Hibs has one of the greatest attacking duo from Scotland, Derek Riordan and Anthony Stokes, who score 21 goals together so far this season, being behind Rangers`s duo: Boyd and Miller. Hibernian lost only 2 of their 11 home games this season, both against giants Celtic and Rangers. The players are aware the any other result than a win on Saturday will cancel the good result from Celtic Park and they are claiming to be 100% focused. Manager John Hughes doesn`t have any fresh injury concerns for the game against St Mirren. Moreover, the Marrocan playmaker Zemmama almost recovered from an injury, while Ivorian defender Bamba just came back from the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Saints
St Mirren are close to the hot zone after 21 rounds played in the SPL and they are one of the most poor travelers from the league. They are on a horrible run of six successive away defeats, failing to score in the last 3 of them. They have completed the loan signing of Ranger`s striker Rory Lovi, and he could play some minutes on Saturday. Chris Smith and Tom Brighton are still long time injured for the Saints.
Home win
Hibernian has won their last 3 consecutive home games against St Mirren, and they are in a terrific form at the moment. They will also be boosted by their returning players, home support will be awesome as ever, so I really don`t see The Saints getting out with a surprise from Easter Road on Saturday afternoon. Home win with medium-high stakes is my call. Good luck.
