After trying to fool the football in their first 3 games from the group stage, Timisoara is having only slim and theoretical chances to advance further. They used an ultra defensive squad in the first at Amsterdam and home against Anderlecht, trying to hit something on counters. But they left all that anti-football behind at Bruxelles, and played an entertaining game, after an attacking performance, despite losing 3-1 in the end. This defensive Timisoara seems to be history even in the Romanian league since the game against Steaua, 3 rounds ago. The club`s chairman stated their main goal was to gather some European experience and we will witness a totally different Timisoara squad than the one who played at Arena. Also, coach Sabau said their main focus is the domestic league now, but they will still do their best in order to get a win over Ajax tomorrow evening.
Ajax
Ajax is the most offensive team from Holland at the moment. From their last 10 games, they failed to score at least 2 goals only in their 0-1 slump to Twente. Ajax needs only one point from Timisoara, in order to ensure the qualifier in the next round, but i seriously doubt they will play for a draw. Killing the game is simply not their style. In the game from Arena, they enjoyed near total domination and missed tons of clear chances. But for sure they will be more focused tomorrow, as Timisoara`s element of surprise is fading. They will play their classic 4-3-3, with Emanuelson, Pantelic and Suarez up front, supported by the likes of De Zeuw, Enoh or Aissati. Very offensive squad.
Open game
I believe this one will be a very entertaining game between two attacking minded teams, and we will enjoy a real show on Wednesday night. Over 2,5 goals seems the most reasonable bet, and i`ll take it with medium confidence. Good luck.
