Sevilla somehow managed to deal with the absences their team had due to the ACN. Now, all their big names got back to their native club, which will make them a lot more dangerous in the upcoming matches. Their performance against Valencia from the previous round of Primera made everyone very confident. They didn’t allow their rival to endanger their good result they made. They led by 2:0 until the last minute when they finally conceded one goal. But, they played at a very high level and I can freely claim they recorded more than a deserved win. As far as the Cup is concerned, their ambitions are to win it. Coach Jimenez is asking everyone a simple question: “Why his team wouldn’t win this trophy if they already eliminated Barcelona, the biggest favorite, then La Coruna squad, etc… Getafe shouldn’t represent too much of a threat. The fact they will be using their strongest lineup shows just how seriously they will be taking this game. The lineup: Palop - Stankevicius, Adriano, Valiente, Escude - Navas, Capel, Zokora, Romaric - L. Fabiano, Negredo.
Semifinals is good enough
Getafe’s players didn’t have too bad of a schedule in the previous part of this competition. They knocked out Espanyol, Malaga and Mallorca, and will finally meet one serious side in the semifinals. Coach Michel’s players can be more than satisfied with what they’ve done so far. The semifinals are more than good for them and I’m positive they don’t have quality to go any further than this. They’re in somewhat poorer form, so a comfortable loss in Sevilla shouldn’t be a surprise. They, of course, won’t travel there to lose, it’s ludicrous to even think about something like that. They will go to try and get a draw and extend their hope of qualifying further. Their probable lineup is the following: Ustari - Cortes, Mane, Diaz, Rafa - Boateng, Parejo - Leon, Manu, Casquero - Soldado.
Routine home win
Sevilla shouldn’t have too many problems in the first leg of this semifinals clash against the visiting Getafe. They’ve shown to all of us many times this season that they can play excellent football and can beat any rival. They’ve eliminated last year’s champions Barcelona, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t be the new Cup winners this season. Getafe will arrive with the goal of not conceding and keeping a clean sheet, and then try to get to the finals in the return leg, but they currently stand small chances for something like that. After a terrific game against Valencia, I’m confident about coach Jimenez’s squad and believe they could record yet another routine win if their bookie sponsors decide not to get involved.
