Hannover is a mediocre Bundesliga side, and it could be said their main goal this season is to stay in some mid-table area, since they realistically aren’t better than any of the stronger Bundesliga teams, while they’re slightly better than the relegation candidates. After a horrible tragedy they recently suffered, when their goalie and German international Enke committed suicide, it seems like they are struggling to get back in life. They suffered a few defeats in a row, and the players seemed totally powerless to do something more serious out on the field. They easily lost to, this season bad Bayern, at home by comfortable 3:0, while they lost to Schalke by 2:0 on the road prior to that. They’re having a bit of a harder time scoring goals which can be seen by their results, primarily due to the absence of a few key players, out of which Schlaudraff, Forsell and Hanke are the hardest ones to make up for.
Brilliant
The popular “Pharmaceuticals” are playing phenomenal this season, and it seems that every other season some new top team manages to raise above the others in form and quality in Bundesliga, and become the main title candidate at the beginning of the season already. Leverkusen “got rid” of their obligations in Cup on time by losing to Kaiserslautern some 3 months ago, so they’re undefeated ever since and in the meantime, they did really well in direct clashes against other title candidates, not losing a single time when visiting Hamburg, Schalke and Bayern, also recording some really convincing wins at home out of which the ones against Stuttgart, Eintracht and Nurnberg (all 4:0 each) were the nicest ones. Kiesling is by far their best and most dangerous player, while other stars on their squad include Hyypia, Gekas, Barnetta, Kroos, Helmes, Rolfes… and I have got to admit that Bayer is playing one really beautiful, offensive and most importantly, efficient football this year and really very few teams have the strength to confront them in a proper way.
The visitors will celebrate
There isn’t much dilemma for me here. Although this bet might be turning into one of the more popular “public bets” this weekend, I still think it will come through with no problem, no matter such bets are usually doomed even before the start. Hannover is simply too weak for Leverkusen and their forceful offense. The hosts will be defending for the most part of this match, and Leverkusen will surely not waste this ideal opportunity to get away from their nearest opponents in the tables even more. I’d even suggest away win with AH for even better odds, as I really don’t believe Hannover will get to play much football here. GL.
