The nightmare period which lasted since 22 of November was finally over when Sampdoria won in Udine against Udinese 3-2! After an extraordinary start of the season Sampdoria just forgot how to win and the time was passing by everyone was getting nervous in the club. There were rumors that Cassano had a fight with coach Del Neri and Cassano was left home last week. Now it seems that everything is going to their places and Sampdoria enjoyed a nice win over Udinese last week. Now Samp is sitting on 10th spot and is just three points from the European zone. Their goal this season is to secure a ticket for the European cups. Sampdoria is now hoping to give continuity to their results with a win against Atalanta. Despite not admitting the crisis between Del Neri and Cassano, the ex Real Madrid player was given a clear message that his behavior will not be tolerated. His replacement Pozzi had a good game and will start again tomorrow. This time Cassano is not ruled out but is injured.
Fighting till the end
Atalanta appointed Bartolo Mutti as their new coach after Antonio Conte left, and Atalanta won against Lazio 3-0 with a great game and dominated Lazio from the beginning. Everyone was hoping that the appointment of Mutti will change something, well indeed something changed and Atalanta changed their style of play and are playing better. Their major problem is the defense which is a real mess. They will travel again to Genoa when they already lose 2-0 one week ago. It will be a hard match for Atalanta because Sampdoria is gaining their form back and are in needs of points. Atalanta will keep fighting till the end and every single point will be important for them but I think that Atalanta will use its home games to get points. Playing away from home has been always a problem for Atalanta despite winning two away matches and being a guest of hungry Sampdoria wont be easy for them.
Desperate for points
Both teams are in desperate needs of points. Sampdoria is fighting to get a place in Europe next season while Atalanta is fighting for survival. Looking at current form most probable outcome is home win but medium stakes are recommended because Sampdoria’s form remains still uncertain and with a team like Atalanta in desperate need of points anything can happen.
