Mick McCarthy`s side are improved from last year, a season where they stayed up after some excellent results against bigger clubs. In midweek, he rested some players against Notts County in the Carling Cup, but his side still came back from behind to progress to the next round. Wolves have made a run of scoring in every game so far this season, which again shows they are improved, and will take some beating, seeing how hard they tend to fight in every game, something that seems to be a trait shared with other smaller cubs
Not bad
So, Gerard Houllier is finally at the club, and it seems to have had an effect on the players. In midweek, they roared back from 1-0 down to knock out fellow Premier League outfit Blackburn Rovers 3-1. Houllier has promised big things to the fans, and they really should be treating him better, keeping in mind how much he achieved at Liverpool and Lyon. I`ve not got much to write about the team, because this bet is based on the psychological effects of the new gaffer. I think the team will be out to impress the new boss, just as we saw against Blackburn, where they actually trailed and had to dig deep.
Showing the real face
Wolves have done well at home so far this season and Aston Villa have been terrible away. Besides, Wolves and Aston Villa shared the points last season with two hard fought, competitive scoring draws the outcome and to be fair I am expecting much the same again this year, so perhaps betting on Aston Villa +0AH is a wise option.
