Liverpool is in major crisis and nobody‘s doubting that. The public is putting huge pressure on their club board asking them to fire their celebrated coach Rafa Benitez. However, they’re still giving him full support and setting an ultimatum that if he doesn’t end with Pool among the top 4 teams at the end of season, he’ll be fired. Even Rafa himself stated he’s got plenty of trust in his players and promised his fans, and the board, that he will certainly get their team where they want them to be. Benitez will most likely have Mascherano available, even though he’s still questionable due to injury. Same goes for Glen Johnson, who is given few chances of showing up on the field since he hasn’t practiced due to an injury he got vs.Arsenal. Riera is still injured, so he won’t be on the bench at all, while their biggest acquisition from the last summer, Aquilani, starts this game from the bench. The Reds haven’t got much choice, they have got to attack and seek the way to the opponent’s goal in all ways possible.
Have got nothing to lose
After winning one point away against Stoke, Wigan’s players are traveling to Liverpool totally relaxed. They’re aware they’ve got nothing to lose so they’ll play with no pressure, which could turn out to be a positive thing. Hendry Thomas is returning to the lineup after missing the last game of his team due to an injury. Goalie Kirkland complained about some back problems, but is expected that this, former Liverpool’s keeper, starts the match. Roberto Martinez hasn’t got any major problems with his squad, so will most likely field the best squad at the Anfield.
Vamos Rafa and the rest!
Enough with bad results from Liverpool – I say it’s about time they outplay someone. Now the Reds just seem a lot more dangerous, since Torres joined the team in their last match, and he could exactly be the key at this game. With some necessary help from the teammates, he could improve his efficiency, which would bring Liverpool a sure win. I believe in their squad and I’m positive that experienced Benitez knows they way how to properly prepare his squad after all the failures that struck them this season. A 2-goal win is worth trying, they can do it…
